Privacy notice.
This explains what personal information Syara holds, why, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read, not to be survived. If anything here is unclear, email us and a person will answer.
Who we are
Syara Ltd is registered in England & Wales (company no. 14140903), with its registered office at 86 Bury Old Road, Manchester M8 5BW. We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office as a data controller under reference ZB991798. For anything to do with your information, email ahmed@syara.io.
For the information described here, Syara is the controller, meaning we decide why it is held and what happens to it.
What this notice covers, and what it doesn’t
This notice is about information we hold as a business: people who contact us, and people at firms we approach about our work.
It does not cover the case files we work on for a client firm. When we build or staff for a firm, that firm remains the controller of its own case data and we act only on its written instructions. That relationship is governed by a separate data processing agreement inside the contract, not by this page.
Nothing we do through this site or with our business contacts involves health information, other special-category data, or children. The medical-grade material in a firm’s case files lives only under that separate agreement, never here.
If you contact us
When you email us, we hold your name, your email address, the firm you’re with and whatever you put in your message, so that we can reply and carry the conversation forward. Our basis for this is our legitimate interest in responding to people who get in touch about our services. We don’t use it for anything else.
If we contact you
We approach firms we believe our services are genuinely relevant to. Where we do, we may hold a name, job title, work email address and firm name, taken from public and professional sources such as company websites, professional directories and Companies House. Our basis is our legitimate interest in offering relevant services to relevant businesses. You can tell us to stop at any time, and we will, with no need to give a reason.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing. The only outside provider that handles it is Microsoft, whose Microsoft 365 service runs our email and office systems: under contract, on our instructions, and only as far as it needs to.
Where we keep it
We hold your enquiry and contact information in Microsoft 365, within the UK and EU, and we don’t transfer it overseas ourselves. Microsoft applies its own safeguards to any processing it carries out on our behalf.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and business-contact information for as long as there is a live conversation or a realistic prospect of one. We review our outbound contact list at least once a year and remove people we haven’t heard from. If you ask us to delete your information sooner, we will — subject only to anything we are required to keep by law.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to: show you the information we hold about you; correct it if it’s wrong; delete it; or stop or limit how we use it. You can also object to how we use your information. If you object to direct marketing, that is an absolute right we will always honour.
To exercise any of these, email ahmed@syara.io. We’ll normally respond within one month. Occasionally a complex request takes longer, and we’ll tell you if so. In almost every case it’s free.
Cookies and tracking
This website sets no cookies or similar technologies, and runs no advertising or third-party tracking. Nothing here follows you around or builds a profile of your visit. If that ever changes, we’ll update this notice first, and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
Automated decisions
We don’t make decisions about you by automated means, and we don’t profile you. If a decision at Syara affects you, a person made it.
Complaints
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us first (ahmed@syara.io) and we’ll try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK regulator, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113. Changes to this notice
We’ll update this page if the way we handle information changes. Where a change materially affects you and we hold your contact details, we’ll tell you rather than rely on you noticing. Last updated 29 July 2026.
